For Elementary Students:
Homework can cause stress at home and interfere with valuable family time in the evenings and weekends. At ACLA, tutors provide a structured approach in a learning conducive environment. In addition to supporting students with their work, tutors ensure that the student understands the material, provide extra practice and pre-teach upcoming materials, so that your evening is free to be enjoyed knowing that your child is ready for the day ahead.
For Jr./Sr. High Students:
Homework and projects at the high school level are meant to solidify material covered in class, but often students find themselves lost or overwhelmed with the task. Students can book appointments on an as-needed basis to get started on a task, get supported during a task or have their work proofread or edited by a qualified teacher.

Atlantic Canada Language Academy offers customized programs to prepare for the DELF or DALF. Upon a student’s initial assessment, Atlantic Canada Language Academy can help you meet your language goals. Our highly trained teachers work with students using materials that are based on the CEFR which are highly structured to give concrete results. As students progress and acquire more proficiency in the language, we recommend the appropriate next DELF or DALF to ensure that their progress is internationally recognized.
The DELF and DALF are 6 independent diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of National Education to assess language skills of people whose first language is not French. They are designed by the Centre International d’Etudes Pédagogiques (CIEP), a public body part of the French Ministry of Education. They are consistent with the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Chinese
Chinese is one of six languages of the UN and it is spoken by one-fifth of the world’s population.
Chinese is taught by Xin Mei, a native Mandarin speaker who now lives in Bridgewater.

At Atlantic Canada Language Academy, a team of qualified instructors are dedicated to improving your English language proficiency. French
Our qualified French teachers support language learners of Core and Immersion French at any grade level.
Students have fun as they take control of their language acquisition with a Language Portfolio. They expand their fluency in both spoken and written French while they explore topics of their choice.
We also provide tutoring and education for other modern languages.
Literacy
We support your child in achieving the Literacy Learning Outcomes at each grade level using our Personalized Tutoring Plan. Qualified teachers assess individual needs and utilize appropriate and fun literary selections and exercises to challenge the student and expand their literacy abilities.
Wilson Reading System
We offer Wilson Reading System™ for students in grades 2- 12 and adults who require intensive instruction due to a language-based disability. The Wilson Reading System™ is a highly-structured remedial program that directly teaches the framework of language to students who have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies, or who may require multisensory language instruction. Each lesson builds on the one before and requires students to use all of their senses to progress through the 12 step program from sounds to syllables, words to sentences, and paragraphs to stories.

Mathematics
Our qualified teachers support Mathematics Learning Outcomes of ALL grades. They specialize in developing and applying strategies to enhance understanding and learning across the grade levels. They are in sync with current Nova Scotia curriculum and can build and elaborate on the way Math is being taught in public schools today.
If your child excels at Math our teachers can challenge him or her with customized enrichment materials to foster his or her love of this discipline.
Social Studies
