It is specifically designed for non-native speakers of English intending to pursue further studies at an institution in an English-speaking institution. The program provides participants with the opportunity to improve their English language proficiency to a level which will allow entry into vocational and/or higher education courses.

Academic English

Gain fluency and confidence in English and 21st Century Skills while you build the transferable skills you’ll need to thrive in our increasingly connected world. These afternoon modules focus on communicative skills for everyday life, work and travel.

IELTS Preparation

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a standardised testing system recognized by most post secondary institutions, government bodies and employers as proof of proficiency. For students to achieve a high score in IELTS, it is vital that they not only have good language skills, but that they also understand the exam they will be taking. This afternoon IELTS module ensures you have plenty of time to take practice exams and mock tests, and with the option of adding on a further 5 lessons of guided exam practice, you can study at your own pace with the support of an experienced IELTS teacher.

Business English

Business English is aimed at students who want to add a more specific focus to their language learning. If you already know you need English for a professional environment, or are thinking about entering into an international workplace, this ACLA course gives you the edge that you need in a 21st century business world. Using specialised course materials, your teacher will guide you to not only improve your English level, but also to develop vocabulary, skills, and knowledge relevant to the modern workplace. Business English classes give students maximum opportunity to develop their language skills through specific, business-related scenarios such as negotiations, presentations, and live communication, either online or over the phone. This allows participants to put their existing knowledge into practice while building on new vocabulary and structures that will help them in the workplace.

Pathway Program

Students who wish to study at one of our partner universities or colleges must reach a level 7 in our Academic English program. They are not required to take a standardized test such as IELTS or TOEFL as proof of English proficiency when applying at our Pathway Partner Institutions.

One-on-one

Our One-on-One sessions are highly customized, built entirely on the student’s needs and goal assessment and initial placement test. One-on-One sessions can be booked in-person or online.

Students who supplement their core course with One-on-One lessons, benefit from the undivided attention of their teacher. Not only does this increase the language input they receive in class, but they can also focus on what’s important to them and study at their own pace. Many students enjoy the freedom this brings, as private lessons can be very flexible.

Students will improve their general English proficiency while also developing their vocabulary and specific skills related to a specific field such as marketing, biology, art, engineering and much more.
